I have received several emails from relatives sending pictures and when I
download them they are zip files. Upon opening the zip files they show up as
text files that look like jibberish when opened. I tried to fix this by
changing the "open with" program but whenever I set it up to be opened with
Photoshop or Coral Snapfire I get an error message saying that it cannot be
opened because it is the wrong type file. I am running Windows Vista Home
Edition. Can you offer assistance?

SandyDee,

Check the Windows Mail settings at 'Tools > Options > Security'. Is the box
under the heading 'Download Images', 'Block images & other external content
in HTML e-mail' checked? This should be unchecked if you are receiving
images via e-mail.

Drew I am on AOL, does this make a difference, I can't seem to find the
settings you are referring to on AOL. I 'll keep looking though, thanks so
much for the suggestion.

If the image is embedded in the email, on the AOL Mail screen, at the top of
the individual email will be a link that says , enable links/show images.
Once you click it, your pictures should be available.
