Of course not, it isn't your computer anymore. Note that they changed it
from "My Computer" to "Computer", "My Documents" to "Documents", etc.

If you want to control your computer instead of letting Microsoft
control it, move up to a real operating system like Ubuntu. It's free
and comes with access to thousands of free programs. Get it at
http://www.ubuntu.com/ and enjoy!

How do you prevent ZIP (compressed) folders from appearing as separate
folders in left-pane in WinExplorer in ListVie?

I don't want them to be listed as folders, but rather as regular files with
a specific extension "zip - I had control over zip representation in
WindowsXP.
As many thign sin Vista are designed to annoy, I don't see such
customizability in Vista?

1) I use WinRAR except for good old zip, rar's are coming to me from Europe
& Asia (drawings/CAD)
But I don't want to disable ZIP's, so you say the only way to prevent them
showing up as folders and instead show as regular files, with nothign
special being about .zip extension, is to DISABLE some kind of special
handling?
I can use your advise but can you elaborate a few words more?

2) I am employed.
But thanks for worrying about my life. As of WinRAR it's free, and so is
Microchip C18 C-compiler.
Why it's free to me? I enabled special treatment function.

Hey dipshit - It is his computer. At least he doesn't run that INFERIOR
Ubuntu piece of crap that nobody wants.

You sure enjoy trying to pass of that INFERIOR Ubuntu as something that
works. Ubuntu is just a toy for geeks who can't get laid to pass the time.

Nobody needs Ubuntu

I know how to get around in XP, but how do you "disable" ZIP in Vista?
I trie dto associate it with some neutral application, e.gh. Notepad since
removing association altogther is not striaghtforward in Vosta unlike XP -
it rewquires a 3d party utility which I misplaced somwhere or playing with
Registry.

By the way, shame on Viosta again for making eyt another task that used to
be easy in XP, very time-consuming.
People who created Vista should hgave hands ripped out.

He's not an Engineer. He can't even set his clock correctly or spell third
grade words.
