OK, thanks.
Outside of Microsoft, clik-jockeying is unrecomended.
I've got expensive connection time; so I need to pre-plan my fetches,
and not just suck-it-and-see.
Can WLM set a thread/conversation to d/l its articles next time it goes
on-line,
for multiple groups?
-> Actions -> toggle: Watch-conversation
doesn't seem to have fetched those threads previously
'selected/toggled'.
And what about <fetch next 50 new headers in subscribed groups>
being pre-selected, before you go on-line?
IIRC Agent Forte could do all that 20 years ago, when I used to use Win3.
I'm aware that the marketing trick, these days is to get the kiddies to
'browse/window-shop' instead of pre-planning.
Re pre-planning vs. klik-jockey browsing: I'm told that WLM's default
news-server has been discontinued and replaced by klik-browsing.
Is that true?
Is it true that the widespread replacement of USEnet by blogs,
means that when you want to query and check possible replies,
you need to AGAIN d/l the original blog and the WHOLE sequence
of comments TWICE for EACH cycle?
== TIA.
