    Greetings,

    I have a win2ksrv sp4 with four(4) WinXPpro sp1 and one WinXPpro sp2
connecting. When a user logs on they are able to control most
settings concerning the desktop, screen saver, etc. Except that users are
    not
allowed to change the power settings on any computer. Roaming profiles are
    in
use and are working just fine. Currently the default settings for power is
    for
the monitor to turn off in 20 minutes. I've looked through the GPO and
can not find where this setting can be changed to allow users to change the
    power setting themselves.

Control Panel -- Display -- Screen Saver Tab - Power

    Thanks

    Jason

    Jason,

Check the permissions on the following registry keys:

    HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control
    Panel\PowerCfg\CurrentPowerPolicy
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-19\Control
    Panel\PowerCfg\CurrentPowerPolicy
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Control
    Panel\PowerCfg\CurrentPowerPolicy

The current power policy setting is a number 0-5, which
correspond to the schemes in the drop down list under the
    power policy.

    C.
