  1. i get this message everytime i try to play an avi file in windows media player
'Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the
file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.'
the error ID is 'Error ID = 0xC00D1199, Condition ID = 0x00000000'
the files work on other media players but the playback is kind of off as well.
ive tried the gspot thing but everytime i try to render it says render
failed.. it cant be that my video files are corrupted because i tried files
that i have just downloaded or uploaded from an outside source.
im pretty sure i have all the codecs needed installed.. i have the mjpg
codec which is what gspot said to use. i dont know what else to do. please
please help. i am using windows xp, windows media player 10. i have
downloaded all the codec packs in the windows media website already and the
ffdshow program too. nothing works.. PLEASE HELP
