The following updates fail to install:

Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB951944)
Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB954326)

Could this be failing because although most of my Office products are 2003
but I have Visio 2007 trial? Thhe trial has not yet expired.

  2. You have 2 choices:
    1) Open the Application event log and look for Error under Type, with
the Source being MsiInstaller. Double click on Error to see if an error
    code is present.
    2) Contact MS for no-charge support since both updates are Security ones:

Same problem here. Nothing seems to work. Happened on both my
desktop and my IBM laptop (which it then trashed so that I had to
restore to a restore point to get the laptop running again).

These updates appear to be pretty poorly implemented as these are the
very first problems I've had after bringing both computers up to SP3
    some time
    ago.
