We have an old NT4 server running that still needs to talk to our network
after raising 2 Win2003 servers to a domain function level (still running in
NT4 compatability mode now). Will I still be able to talk to the network
using a trust on the 2003 Server to the NT4 server? Very nervous.. Anything
special I need to do before raising AD to domain function level?

Now that this step is done my "log into" domain (from xp pro ws) is the pre
windows 2003 domain name? Why would this not be the new AD domain name? I
have different domain names from NT4 to Win 2003?
    Thanks in Advance

  4. Hi,

I'm confused. The domain name is not changed. Please tell me what happened
    on the earth.

Thanks Vincent but I resoleved this yesterday with a call into MS.
The pre Windows 2003 domain name shows up on our XP Pro workstations as a
"Log Into" domain name. The migration info I read I understood that the new
domain name would be the full domain name (during workstation login) however
I was told yesterday that this is by design. i.e
Pre Windows 2003 domain name (NT4) (conamets)
Post Win 2003 domain name (coname.conamestate.com)

The full domain name shows up in My computer as the domain the workstation
is attached to however the login domain at the time the workstation logs into
the network has the domain name in the login box populated with the pre
windows 2003 domain name (conamets) we were told yesterday that this is by
    design.

    Thanks
    Tim
