    From The Stone Blog:
"I just thought I would throw up some initial thoughts and impressions about
the latest build released to us beta testers. All I have to say so far is -
fantastic! I had read some posts that we would be wow'd by this build and
RC1 and so far, I am! Performance is about 3x better so far on my Dell
Inspiron 9300, and driver support is phenominal! I didn't have a single
device that didn't come through setup installed except for the sound card
which hit Windows Update and immideately downloaded and installed the
driver, and did NOT require a reboot before it began to function! Amazing!
I think that is the first time I have ever seen a sound card driver install
    without requiring a reboot. "

Vista RC1 is looking good !

on my low spec machine, the improvement is immense since the last build
    (54something or other i think)

    good work :)

Do you or anyone know if everyone who downloaded the public beta 5384 will be
eligible to download the rc1 version? Will it be a first come/first serve
scenario where if you don't get to it in time, the licenses will be gone? Or
will all those with the previous build be guaranteed to be able to download
RC1? And will you need a new license number or will the older beta number
work? I couldn't find answers to these questions, so I hope they haven't
been answered multiple times earlier. Thanks!

Any member of the CPP, MSDN, Technet, etc... will get the RC1 build. Chances
are, if you registered with Microsoft to download the public beta 2 of vista,
then you are a member of the CPP.

If you downloaded Vista beta 2 illegally, then no, you are not entitled to
RC1. As long as you downloaded from Microsoft and registered to get your key
    from Microsoft, you're good.

Also, if you had the beta 2 mailed to you by Microsoft, RC1 should be mailed
    to you as well.
