    hi,
i have one user account on sbs2003 that keeps locking out on its own. It
started happening this morning and when I compare with other accounts, they
all have lockout option grayed out. I can deselct that option but immediately
    gets locked again. Help
    Thanks

  2. On the user's desktop, try going to CP -> Users. On the Advanced tab, click
Manage Passwords. Delete any saved passwords that apply to resources on
    your LAN.

  4. I would think this would be a password on the actual PC the user is logging
into. Then that PC is sending the incorrect password to the TS.

The bad password error in the security log on the SBS should tell which PC
the bad password came from (name or IP address) so you can verify that PC as
the source, but there's really nowhere else for it to be coming from - if
she were repeatedly entering the wrong PW she'd obviously know it.

I know this is an old thread, but just in case anyone else is having this problem going forward, here is a sure fire way to fix this issue:

    -Log in as administrator
-Back up the user's Outlook archive and desktop files
-Remove the user from Control Panel -> Users
-Delete the user's profile folder from C:\documents and settings (or c:\users depending on your version of windows) NOTE: You may need to reboot in safe mode to delete the profile folder, especially if you get a "cannot delete ntuser.dat" error message
-Make sure the user's account is unlocked on the server
-Log in as the user on the local machine and restore outlook/desktop files

Donwload a tool called NetWrix Account Lockout Examiner—it identifies account lockouts in real time (sending E-mail alerts to operators), troubleshoots the lockouts to discover the issues, and proactively resolves them. The netwrix tool should be useful in this case.
