After I got win2003 server updated with sp1, I find that my network drivers
stays in "Acquiring network address" state for a long time or sometimes it
gets stuck at this state, only a reboot helps in bringing up the connection.
    what may be the reason?

    thanks

  2. In Windows XP SP2 I work around the same problem by opening network
properties, disabling the local LAN connection, and reenabling the local LAN
connection. After this supposed no-op, it suddenly remembers that I
assigned it a static IP address last year.
A preview for Windows Vista maybe? In Vista beta 1, there seems to be
almost no way to make it remember that I assigned it a static IP address
    last month.
