I just updated my activesynce from 4.0 to 4.2 and then updated the firmware
for my Sprint(UTSTARCOM) pocket PC 6700, and attempted to sync with my PC,
but Activesync doesn't recognize my phone and keeps creating a new profile.
How do I get activesync to recognize my phone and connect to my current
profile that I can see is on my active sync software when the device is not
connected. I don't want to have to reinstall all my software and
    reconfigure all my settings.
    Thanks.

  2. Hello,

This isn't that uncommon. Because your device name changed back to the
default name when you upgraded the ROM as well as other OS-level changes,
often times when you upgrade your ROM you have to create a new profile.

Unless you have a backup of your old configurations, you will have to
reinstall and reconfigure your applications after the ROM update.
ActiveSync doesn't really play a role in this - all it does is sync up your
data and allow you to install the applications (which will be listed in the
Tools>Add/Remove Programs menu). You can reinstall the applications from
    there.

    Hope this helps.
