Activesync failure but completely clean installation

  1. As an Action Pack subscriber, I have just upgraded from Office 2010 beta to
    the full RTM version.

    In doing this, I decided to start afresh with a clean system and have
    rebuilt everything from scratch:
    Windows 7 Ulitmate 64bit
    Office Pro+ (32bit)
    FrontPage 2003 (32bit)
    Windows Mobile Device Center (64bit).

    Phone is a HTC TouchHD running latest Orange ROM.

    I'm unable to get it to sync any details - keeps coming up on the desktop
    saying
    first that Sync Failed and then ActievSync encountered an error on the
    desktop (error code listed on phone is the common 0x85010014).

    I've deleted and recreated my Outlook profile, wiped and reloaded the phone
    so its back at factory defaults and still getting the same error message.

    Have done the bit about unchecking the USB-to-PC option with no joy either.

    I now have a phone with no contacts or calendar and cannot get them to sync
    with my computer.

    Tried it with Windows firewall on and off also.

    Can anyone urgently shed any light on this?

  2. Forgot to add that I only sync my contacts, calendar and notes between
    Outlook and the phone - I don't sync emails or any other files.
