AD Issues? DNS Issues?

  1. Hello All ---

Kinda of a long one here....

    I was troubleshooting 1202 errors and 1058's - Ahhh my favorites.... (0x57).
After considerable troubleshooting and attempting Solutions and solutions...

    I finally discovered this:

After running netdiag, it reported that the SOA record for my Domain
    (smallbusiness.local) could not be found.

But I have verified DNS Connectivity several ways and it all seems to work.

What solutions can I try to verify that my SOA record is accurate and
    correct?

When I go \\server2\share I have no problems accessing shares and server
recources... However when I go \\server2\sysvol\a particular GPO I get
propmted for credentials which always fail then if I use the IP in place of
the server name I connect to that particular GPO w/o issue...

This is Windows 2003 SP1, W/ 1 Windows XP client.

  2. Hey,

It looks like Secure chanel between windows XP and your domain has broken
because of that u are being prompted for Credential. Check Trust relationship
test in your netdiag - if it fails use netdom to reset Sc-channel.
