On a Windows syestem using Veritas Netbackup to periodically backup I have a
    question: .

The Veritas system says that the file C:\Program Files\microsoft
ADAM\instance1\data\temp.edb is in use. and then cannot backup the file.
Question: What does this file do ?? Can this file be excluded from the
    backup safely ?

If we exclude the file from the backup, do we have to expect problem for the
restore ? Could you help us to answer this question coming from the field ?

    Hi

temp.edb is used in log file rotation, you need to be backing up ADAM
in much the same way you would AD. ADAM registers a VSS writer
so ideally you need a VSS aware backup product.

In practice using ntbackup to backup ADAM and then using another
product to backup that backup file works well.
