Add columns in Available columns in Add/remove Columns

Discussion in 'Active Directory' started by Anneli Hultberg, Mar 27, 2006.

  1. I would like to add some columns that do not exist under Available columns
under View Add/Remove columns in Active Directory.

    For example
    Street
    Telephones Home
    Telephones Mobile

I have tried by using Adsiedit and add under extracolumns but I can’t se
that under Available columns so I think I made some mistake.

My second question is about showing information when searching for users.
I see 5 tabs with: General, Address, Business, Net Meeting and Digital IDs
How could I change that and remove some and add other? For example telephone
    numbers.

    Anneli,

You are on the right track and it will be in your best interest to learn
what must be changed with adsiedit and why.
    See
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...ages_for_use_with_display_specifiers.aspunder "Modifying existing user interfaces" chapter the for guidencenecessary. I know this was written from a developer perspective so it maytake some extra effort to comprehend it (did me), but it's worth it!Remember that you have to modify the object that will have the extra collums*and* the properties to be displayed for the object type.As to Q2, if you are "searching" for users from XP "search", then I do notbelieve you can modify what is displayed.--/kj

  3. Thanks for your answer.
I got it to work, my mistake was that i wrote
    street,Street-Address,0,100,0 instead of the right
    streetAddress,Address,0,100,0

But now I know what to change :)
