I have 2 windows 2k3 Enterprise servers. One houses 4 DFS roots. I wanted
to create those roots on the second server for redundancy incase the first
server goes down the dfs links are still there. I went into the MMC for DFS
and selected New Root Target on each of the roots and selected the second
server. It all appeared to be working fine until I started getting some
calls about drive letters showing up as Disconnected. The drives are mapped
using \\Domain_Name\dfs_share_name. When I right clicked on them and when
to the dfs tab it showed both servers listed and they both returned status
of Ok when I did check status. The only way I was able to get the status
out of Disconnected for the drives was to do a net use x: /delete which
returned an error but after a reboot they were working for a little while.
I have removed the root target on the second server hoping this fixes the
end users problems for now but would like to be able to have the redundancy
back if I can. Any help on this would be great.

    Thanks,
