Adding Record Albums to media center

Discussion in 'Windows Media Center' started by Jamie Johnston, Dec 28, 2004.

  1. I am sure many of you have already done this but I am looking for an answer
on how to copy my old Record Albums to my media center PC. I have a
collectoin of about 200 albums and they are oldies but goodies and I sure
would like to add them to my playlist.

thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Jamie,
I think you are in the wrong place (italian here) but I can try to help you
    anyway :)
I think you are having problems with Artist>Album right?
We have discussed this on italian forum of mce. Media Center adds two new
tags to recognize album and artist album...
You will have to manually edit all the mp3's or use a program that does it.
You will have to add the tag "Artist Album" and "Album" so MCE will
    recognize them...

If you want also to add your mp3 collection... when you go into the My Music
menu with the remote and just press the "i" button to select and add music

Let me know if it works :)

Are you looking for information on how to record the albums from a turntable
to the PC ? Or have you already done this?

I connected my stereo system sound out RCA cables to the IN of my sound
card - played the ablums on the turntable and recorded them in Sound Forge
on the PC as one long wave file. then I went back and split the wave into
each song - then saved those split files as MP3's. I also did this with
    all my old cassette tapes.

    Whooops :)
I didn't see he said "old" records :)

    Sorry

That's the best solution... there is also another useful program from Magix,
    called Audio Cleanic
