Address bar does not auto fill in IE 7

Discussion in 'Internet Explorer' started by Address bar does not autofill, May 6, 2007.

  1. Hi,

I have recently upgraded to IE7 from IE6. Whenever I am typing the address
of a web page which was previously opened, it does not auto fill. I have to
manually enter the complete address. I have all the options checked for
maintaining the history of the pages i viewed and also to set the autofill
    property.

Is there any solution to fix this? Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Arvind

    Hi,
First... Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> put a check by "Use inline
    AutoComplete."

Then, if IE History is being saved properly...
You may have an incompatible browser add-on.
    See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
    for troubleshooting information.

Installing the latest version of the troublesome add-on may resolve this, or
the add on may not yet be compatible with IE7.

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing the
problem. Any program that interacts with Internet Explorer could be causing
this. The connection with IE may not be obvious, such as Google Desktop.

A firewall will not be causing this problem, but be sure to turn on the
Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite during testing.

    Hope this helps,
    Don
