We have acquired a company and are in the process of migrating the users and machines from the source domain to the target domain.

Source domains is 2003 functional level, and target is 2008 R2 functional level.

A two way Transitive Forest Trust is in place between the two domains and they both validate ok in both directions.

I have run the commands 'netdom trust source.local /domain:target.local /enableSIDhistory:yes /usero:sourceadmin /passwordo:password' and 'netdom trust source.local /domain:target.local /Quarantine:No /usero:sourceadmin /passwordo:password' on both source and target domains and verified the commands have taken effect.

ADMT 3.2 is installed a server in the target domain and password migration service is installed and running on the source dc.

I can migrate users, passwords, groups, machines and profiles without any errors. The sidhistory attribute is populated on the target objects with the objectsid attribute from the source object. The migrated users can log onto the migrated machines with out issue and access their local files.

The issue is accessing resources on the source domain such as file shares. The users are still prompted for their credentials. I want access to be seamless and it is my understanding that this should be so.

    Any ideas?
