Advanced Tag Editor / MP3 tag editor

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by wonkothesane42, Oct 9, 2007.

  1. I am trying to edit the genre tags in WMP 11 , and he advanced tag editor
works for media player, but does not actually change the tag info.

How do I edit the MP3 info in media player and have it save the changes to
    the MP3 tag?

    Thanks!

1/ There are different tags - ID3, etc - So it depends which tag you're
looking at (a file could have more than one type of tag)

2/ WMP doesn't update the file immediately (can happen later)

With the note that you can use WMP's Tools:Apply Media Information menu tool
to foreground the background "save" processes.

Which part foncused you? You can ignore the part about foreground the
background. The AMI menu tool I referenced is the only interesting note I
made. Foreground the background is only valuable if you wish to have a
deeper understanding of what's going on, as the tasks are normally
backgrounded at a lower priority. Foregrounding moves them to normal
priority and blocks WMP to get 'er dun.
