    Please help me out here.
We have 2 domain cotrollers in the domain W2K and W2K3) and when one of
them (that used to be the only DC) goes offline, all connections are lost and
all servers start panicking. Domain is in native mode.
Why is the second DC not kicking in? Has anyone experienced anything like
    that?
    Thank you,
    Alexei

    Hello Alexei,

are both GCs, DNS-Servers, and are the DNS-Clients configured to fallback to
    the second DNS-Server?

Global Catalog Server: Look in Active Directory Sites and Settings, Browse to
the Server, go the NTDS-Settings, and right-click -> Properties. Is the
checkbox for Global Catalog set on both servers?

Open the DNS Managementkonsole, add both servers to the console. Check if they
both show the same settings. Check the zones if they are integrated into Active
Directory. Click on a server, right click properties. Are the forwarders
configured identically on both servers? Are the other configurations the same
    on both servers?

Run IPConfig /all on all machines. Verify that the IP-Adresses of both DNS-
Servers / DCs are listed as DNS-Servers.
