Well, my second Vista computer crapped out! I tried to install another
1 GB of RAM and that is all she wrote......It won't boot. So if you
plan to do any upgrades you better backup everything! I am patiently
:( awaiting restore disks from Acer.......they don't ship with new
    computers. What a rip off!
It seems that you can't install anyone's memory except Acer's and it
is $360.00 per Gig. Acer E380 is a piece of CRAP!!

You need to get your hard earned money back and buy a PC that works
    - a Mac.

Well, I sent the second Vista computer back. I found out that customer
service from Acer is next to none !Nobody knows anything about it not
    even Acer.
I decided to just upgrade my old one, I am installing a new video
card, 2GB of memory and windows xp pro.

No more Vista for me! Maybe when SP2 is released maybe

I got my ACER E380-E at the end of May, so my experience with it is limited.
I thought it was a good, solid machine, very quiet with variable-speed fans
and a very nice case. Then I repartitioned the HDD, and the crap hit the
fan. Of the four partitions, the last one (5 GB) had 7693 bad sectors. Both
boot sectors are unwriteable, so the format failed. ACER is shipping me a
replacement HDD. And no, I didn't drop, bump or jerk the computer.

While Vista Ultimate has some quirks and bugs, overall I prefer it to
Windows XP Prof. I used to pick up several pieces of malware every day. With
    Vista, I've got 2-3 in a month-and-a-half. I'm impressed! And while the
documentation and the label on the face of the machine state it has an AMD
    Athlon 4400+ 64 X2 CPU, in reality it's an AMD Athlon 4600+ 64 X2, a
definite bonus. So it's been a mixed bag so far.
