Is anyone running any sort of Anti trojan software in conjunction with
Trend Anti Virus? Is AT software becoming a necessity.

Any good corporate level AV software will find trojans.

Safe computing practice will ensure you never get one.

MS Antispyware is in Beta, but I have used it on a few sites, it has not
caused me any problems, and has caught a few nasties. Lavasoft Adaware I
run if Spyware is suspected. Both catch a good proportion of malware, but
neither are foolproof. MS Antispyware can constantly monitor in the
background, whereas Adaware cannot, unless you purchase the full version.

Having said that, Anti Trojan software is kinda limited. Educated users is
a good solution, although you do not always have control of this. Having
the users log into thier workstation WITHOUT administrative rights will
prevent a lot of nasties, but may require some extra effort, particularly
with crappy 3rd party applications. Users who do not know what they are
doing, logged onto a machine with full administative rights, a propensity to
fiddle, and internet access is not condusive to system stability, AT
software is not going to be enough of a Bandaid to correct this.
