As the host writes the guest's drive images to a physical hard drive, the
host's anti-virus software will pick up any viruses in the guest. True?

    No ...

The host anti-virus most likely does not search a .vhd (or other Virtual PC
files) ... Install and keep up-to-date AV software on all guests ...

You need to install the anti-virus software on every
single guest OS separately if you want them to be
    protected.
