Any issues/preparation to install WMP 10 over WMP 9?

I have WMP 9 and Win XP SP2. *I didn't install the WMP 10 Beta.* After
reading the Read Me several times, I'd like to avoid glitches but am not
sure of this. *Do I need to do anything special-change any settings at
Options, or do any tweaking of any DRM in 9 to install WMP 10*
Has anyone experienced any problems with WMP 10 after upgrading from WMP 9?

I don't want to miss something I should have done, and regret it later or
have to hack the registry or play games with it or have workarounds. I did
run WMP 9 Beta, and installed WMP 9 over it and didn't have a single issue
    with that.

Unless I missed it, whoever wrote the Read Me for MSFT, left out one very
simple explicit statement that I would have put right at the top. "You can
install WMP 10 over WMP9" or if so, "Before Installing WMP 10 over WMP 9, do
    xyz."

I didn't see any information here on upgrading to WMP 10 nor in the MSKBs.

It would be helpful if there could be some information on the site saying
clearly if you have to do anything first to upgrade from WMP 9.

    tia,

  2. I had an issue with installing WMP 10 but then i went to this one site and
got the issue fixed by downloading a reg file and running it.

I never had the beta version of WMP10 i just had WMP 9 and went from that to
WMP10 and it didnt install. But like i said after using that reg key it let
    me install it.

Thanks. I saw your interesting post and Zach's followup, and I'll keep them
in mind. I checked out Zach's site to see if there were any caveats for my
situation (I didn't see any). I only saw a couple KBs (the ones below--I'm
sure there will be some more), but they didn't apply, so I installed WMP 10
over WMP 9 and as I check out more new features, everything seems to be
running well. I'm crossing my fingers.

  4. During the install, it recommends you disable WMP9's "mini-mode" task
toolbar. Other than that, I didn't do anything and it ran fine.
