Every time I reboot my pc AS4.5 starts up and says "MS ActiveSync
cannot open the COM port. To try setting up the connection again,
click OK and follow the on-screen instructions". No matter if I
continue with the wizard and tell it I don't want to use the com port
(since I'm using USB) or if I cancel it and make sure the comm port
box is unchecked, on restart it always repeats the whole process.

Regardless, my device always works fine over usb. Is there some
registry hack or something to keep AS from always checking/trying to
use the comm port at restart?

No, no BT. Also, I never had this problem with the previous versions
    of AS.

I have BT dongle but AS 4.2 and have the problem. It is very annoying since
it takes 3 clicks of the mouse to get rid of the messages. I have removed it
from startup and still get the messages. Seems like the computer ought not
to check for AS if it is not in the startup.

don't want to leave the dongle plugged in - using a tablet pc and the dongle
gets in the way most of the time.

Anybody come up with a solution to this problem. I have it as well?
