Why is it that some users are asked for a "username & Password" to connect to
the companyweb here locally? Around three of the ten users are asked this?

If I type in their username and password nothing happens. I have givejn the
    users permissions for the companyweb.

Actually, I (admin) is the only user out of the 10 that it does not ask for
    a username and password.

  3. Hi GTP,

Permissions for companweb are set automatically by the Add User Wizard. If
you create your users from within ADUC, then you miss out on a lot of
configurations that would otherwise be taken care of.

If that's the case, it's fairly easy to fix. From the Users node of Standard
Management, you can re-apply permissions by selecting a template and one or
    more users.

  4. Have you set the company web as a local trusted site under the Local
intranet security zone in Internet explorer ?

I figured out what the problem was. I cut and pasted instead of copying our
logo into the default layouts directory. So the homepage.jpg file was aksing
for user authentication. If you clicked cancel the companyweb would work but
the image would turn into an X. I set the permissions to the jpg file and now
    it works fine.

  6. Cool. Now that you mention it, I think I've done the same thing ;-).

    Good work, Greg.
