    now on dells site-there are two versions, V and non V

    Additional Information

    1. This restore utility supports Windows 2000 and XP (SP1 and SP2) only.
    2. Only support on Axim X50v with Windows Mobile Version 5.0. DO NOT support
    other Axim product.
    3. Only support roll back ROM image from Windows Mobile Version 5.0 to
    Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition with same language.
    4. ActiveSync 3.7.1, 3.8, or 4.0(and later) can be used after
    reinstallation.

    I am having all sorts of problems and want to go back and try again - where
    is the file you refer to?

    It's in Dell's support section, select Axim X50, and select WM5 as the OS.
    It will have links to the re-vert files. Note they are different for QVGA
    and VGA devices. The restore is also built to the latest 05 ROM release. It
    only works for X50s that have been upgraded to WM5, not X51s that started
    that way, BTW.
