Will Media Center authenticate to a Domain or AD? I know XP home won't.

  2. The answer is "depends". :)

If you upgrade from 2004, then you retain the ability. if you do a clean
install of 2005 and do not join a domain during the install routine, then you
won't be able to later. If, during the install routine, you *do* join a
domain during the clean 2005 install, then you can.

Seems that it's the MCE part of setup that disables the domain ability during
setup - so if you join before that happens, you retain the ability.

But as long as it's in the domain and FUS is not enabled, extenders won't
work. If extenders aren't an issue for you, then you should have no problem.
