    Hello,

I work for the Networks and Computing Branch at a large university in
    Australia, based in Melbourne.
We cannot get the Windows Automatic Service to work from any host
machine, I have found an article stating that Automatic Windows Update
silently does not update if you have a non-transparent web proxy between
us and the Windows update site. We have a non- transparent proxy, can
you confirm whether this indeed the reason why it is not working.

If this is the reason, I will organise to make requests to the windows
update site go directly connect rather than using a proxy, what I need
though, is the server addresses of exactly where the windows update site
is hosted and relevant ports etc etc..

Any information to assist would be appreciated,

    Sam Khoury

Look in your options Internet/connections/parameters/waiter prox
If Proxy is notched, strips it and test again the update
