Blank Message Pane in Browser

    Running IE7 with WinXP SP2, I am now unable to read any posts in the browser
    window. It was working fine until yesterday. Now, the browser shows an
    "error on this page" in the lower lefthand corner and, although the list of
    threads is present, the message pane is blank and the contents of messages
    will not appear when "clicked". Also, cannot post any new message from the
    IE7 browser window. I was able to read messages and post this message only
    by using Outlook Express. Don't find anything about this problem by
    searching the KB. Ironic that IE7 is not working properly within the IE7
    newsgroup. Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there a solution?

    I have experienced the same thing both with IE 7 and IE 6 on separate
    systems, both running Win XP Pro/SP2 all patched up. Luckily now I have this
    laptop with IE 7 on it still functioning here properly. I'm at a loss ...

    Also, in addition to not being able to view more than half of the page of
    posts on a page, and not being able to read anything in the view pane, the
    buttons/links at the upper right (Sign in) and (Help) do not respond to
    clicks.

    All other web sites I've visited since this started on the same systems
    appear and function normally.

    If it's any help/consolation the problem appears to have started for me on
    the 3rd of December also. I posted several times on the 2nd with no
    problems. But starting on the 3rd, the problem has frustrated me to no end.

    I've sent email to my MVP contact at Microsoft, so hopefully he will point
    someone to this comment of yours so that someone can get moving to find out
    what went wrong and what it takes to get it fixed. That's about all I know
    to do at this point, except share your misery.

    I had the same problem all day long. Seems to have cleared up now. System

  6. The Web page has been having some problems recently.
    In Outlook Express go to Tools | Accounts | Add (or New) | News.
    Set up an account for this news server:

    msnews.microsoft.com

    The server is free and does not require you to logon. This news server
    carries over 2200 newsgroups related to Microsoft products and keeps
    messages at least 30 days.

    Thanks to all who responded. Glad to find out that it wasn't just my pc
    having the problem -- apparently something to do with Javascript not seeing
    what it expected on the page. MS has apparently resolved the issue and all is
    fine now as I am having no problem accessing newsgroup pages in my brower
    window.
