    Hi
I'm new to the forum so please bear with me. I have both Windows Mail
and Windows Live Mail installed. I use WLM. I'd like to remove WM.

Or, import all messages and accounts from WLM and uninstall that....

    Make sense?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hello David,

Windows Mail is a part of Vista and cannot be uninstalled, but there is
no need to. You can just let Windows Mail sit unused and use WLM as your
default email program without any problems, or use both of them. Letting
Windows Mail sit unused will not use up any of your system resources.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thank you for the quick reply. The problem I'm facing is that I have WLM
set as my default mail program and other programs I use think that WM is
    the default.

No matter what I do, or setting I alter, I am unable to get these
programs to recognize WLM as the default.

Is there another area I'm missing to set the defaults?

    Thanks,
    David

In Windows Live Mail, click on Tools and Options. Next, double check t
make sure that both "Make Default" buttons at the bottom are grayed ou
(enabled) by clicking on them and click on OK. That should make WLM you
    default program completely in Vista

What programs do not recognize WLM as the default? I suppose that som
3rd party programs may have a setting that you may need to specify th
default email program instead of it automatically using the default se
    in Vista

    Yes, WLM is the default

TeamViewer 3 is the program that is not using WLM as it's vehicle fo
sending email invitations. It keeps pulling up WM

I'll work with their support to try to get a resolution

    Thanks

Ok. I hope that they will be able to help you. Hopefully it will just b
a setting in that program that will allow you to specify a default

Did you go to Default Programs, either on the start menu or in Control
    Panel>classic view?
Set default programs, a list of programs will populate, ensure that WLM has
all its defaults set, also check that it disabled the defaults for WM.
