    Since the connect site for IE feedback is closed, I'll drop my bug report
    here. Suggestions where to send it instead are welcome.

    --------
    Bug subject: Using Javascript to change DOM of "invalid" document makes IE7
    to complain about broken network connection.

    To reproduce: Save the code below to "broken.html" and open it with IE7. If
    you are asked to allow Javascript, do so.

    ------
    <body>
    <p>Bug?</a>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].appendChild(document.createElement("div"));
    </script>
    </body>
    ------

    Expected result: Seeing the text "Bug?" and maybe some javascript error.

    Actual result: Dialog box that advises me to check my network connection.

  3. Hi,

    Have you tried replacing this:

    <p>Bug?</a>

    With:

    <p>Bug?</p>

    Good luck,
