burn rights with WMP 11

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by Jason Madison, Jan 7, 2007.

  1. I recently purchased some music from the "Music for Norway" web site, but am
unable to burn it to CD - WMP says I do not have burn rights to the songs.

I contacted the site and was told:

"That's very curious as all licenses issued by us contain burn rights.
You're required to do it with the Windows Media Player, though - a
requirement of the Windows Media Rights Management."

    However I have noticed from

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/readme.aspx

that WMP 11 only supports licences from a limited number of sites, and

    http://www.musiconline.no/shop/default.asp

is not listed as one of the supported sites.

    What can I do?

  2. Try disabling the User Rights Management in Media Player altogether.

Can find it under Tools/Options/Privacy in Media Player.
