After installing the four critical updates a few moments ago
I went to the c:\Windows folder to get rid of the uninstall
files. In addition to the new updates' folders there's also
a folder called c:\WINDOWS\$hf_mig$ whose contents are these

The last three have the same names as three of today's
critical updates. (The missing one is 885884.)

What is c:\WINDOWS\$hf_mig$? Can I delete it?

  2. Hi

You should not delete the $hf_mig$ directory.

The hf_mig directories are part of the hotfix migration and
multibranch support system, so you might need them in the future.
