  1. Hey wassup, I've never really had a problem with this until I recently
upgraded from Media Player 9 to this new one Media player ten. but after I
upgraded (and I've had 10 for a month now) and now it is very selective
because It playes .wmv, .asf, .avi, .mpeg (1 -4), and it also plays vcds and
dvds but it's only on a certain .wmv or .avi or .asf that it stops working
and it shows this message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because
the required video codec is not installed on your computer." I i've searched
all over for this video codec and I downloaded EVERY single codec for this
media player from the Microsoft website. and it STILL doesn't work at all. So
I'm really irritated. I mean how come it worked when I had media player 9 but
it doesn't work on media player 10 ?
    Please help me
