To my distress my MSN was listed on a public site,

Now I can’t block any more MSN users,
And can’t get rid of new “add†requests with out allowing them to see me

I have ~30 people asking to "add me to their list" I am only presented with
an option of "add" or "block" but my block list is already full with the
    previous ~50 people.
I can’t clear the block list without approving them to my contact list and
then deleting - but then they can add me to their contact list and msg me and
send me nudges as they want.
    3 options of better solutions:
    1. Give another option - reject request once
    2. Unlimited block list
    3. Delete directly from the block list

Do any of you know how to get this sort of request to the messenger design
    team?

  2. Greetings Tom,

This is what is referring to as reverse list flooding.

Your block list should be able to contain them fine, the limit is substantially higher than
50 people. If you need to clear some people, press Alt-T on your keyboard in any Messenger
window, choose Options, then Privacy, then right-click some people and choose the Delete
option (note this option will appear grayed unless they've removed you from your main contact
    list).

    Thank Jonathan !
This work great, I tried "deleting" in the past and gave up on the option
after running through a number of names and seeing it always grayed out.

You are of course correct when I went into the privacy settings I found
hundreds of already blocked contacts... I'm now running the list and deleting
    the ones I can.

I guess in your answer you meant to say regarding the Delete option:
(note this option will appear grayed unless they've removed you from THEIR
    main contact list)

So if I’m still on their list I cant delete them from the block list.
What about the second part of my question, proposing a simpler solution that
gets rid of the add requests? The new feature for the MSN group?

In any case - thanks again :)

  4. Hi Tom,

It's been suggested nearly since the dawn of time (okay not that long), but reverse list
flooding used to be a significant problem. There have been plenty (and excellent)
suggestions proposed over the years of correcting this. However, within Microsoft terms, a
design change request is significantly difficult to get through.

Although you can feel free to suggest it, there are no plans to change the design of this
    part of Messenger.
