Can an external firewire device be used for the virtual hard drive?

    Hello all,

I recently obtained a copy of VPC 2004 so that I can develop and test some
open source technology, without affecting my existing Windows environment.

I have a SimpleTech SimpleDrive Deluxe device that connects via FireWire and
has 100 GB of free space available.

Can I create the virtual hard drive on this external device?

If so, after I load WinXP Pro and my initial set of files, can I copy this
virtual hard drive so that I have it as a baseline version? I'd like to
eliminate re-installing the OS everytime I want a "fresh" copy for testing.

Thanks, in advance for your replies.
