Can I have two domains of the same name on the same IP block?

My goal will most likely help you give me my real solution. I have an old
domain that was on a NT4 domain that had been upgraded to a 2000 domain
controller. I tried to slip a W2k3 server on there but during the process
discovered the old domain had some corruption. I ran the repair but things
have been hinky on the 2003 server even though I did all the prep listed in
    the MS articles.

I'd like to set up the new server to replace the old DC/Exchange box. I'd
rather not have it inherit any of the old domain configuration other than
the name. I'm not sure if I should start out with it on the same domain or
rename the domain on the server afterwards.

    Thank you

  2. As long as they are able to to see each other (via WINS or broadcast or DNS)
then they can't have the same name. Also if your thought is to move resources
across you can't do that either.
