I was just wondering if this is possible through my 2005 edition of Media
Center. If this could work...that would be really awesome. I haven't had any
luck yet finding out if I can or not so if anybody has any information about
    it, I would appreciate it.

Not sure, why, but you would want to do that, but moving on.......

Is that a valid model number for a Sony notebook with Media Center
    Edition?loaded?
URL on the sony.com support site of the notebook?
Does the notebook have VIDEO IN? or a on board tv tuner?

You won't be able to view it within the MCE application. MCE buffers your
video input so that it can do what is refered to as 'trick play' (i.e.
pausing, rewinding, fast forwarding of the tv stream). As a result, what
you see on screen is not shown at the same time as when it was sent in from
your xbox (it'll be delayed by about 2 seconds).

If the Sony Vaio comes with another application that can display video in,
    then it might be possible.
