Can Media Player convert files without ripping them?

I have a bunch of mp3 files and was wondering if I could convert them to wma
files. I know I could burn them to a CD and then have Media Player rip them,
but it seems kinda stupid to do all that if there was an option I was missing
in Media Player 10 to just convert the files. I know iTunes has this
capability (change default Recording format then right-click on your file in
the Library). Am I missing something in Windows Media Player?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the info regarding WMP.

Regarding iTunes, you are correct, in that changing the default format
doesn't change the files -- you still have to right-click on the file and
choose Convert to do that :)

Does anyone know of the wishlist email address microsoft has? I thought it
    was , but apparently not.
