can only play video with DVD in Media player 11 but there's no sou

I am using Vista and i can play DVD's but i only get Video. No audio. Is
there possibly a way to reinstall it,or is there an update i could try,or
something? this is frustrating.

 

I forgot to mention that it was Windows Media Player that couldn't play DVD's
but all the others like Power DVD,Real Player,etc could play sound with the
DVD. But regardless,i took your advice and installed AC3 Filter and it
worked. Thanks for the help. I went to Dell last night for help on it and
they tried to recommend reformatting. it wasn't like i got no sound
whatsoever even on mpegs,so i knew there was something wrong with what he
said. but anyway,thanks again.

 

Is other audio playback (i.e. mp3, wav) broken as well, or is it jus
the DVDs

 

Chadmas i said i can play mpegs,wmv,etc just fine. even audio files like wav
had audio. the only DVD Player that had no audio was Media Player. But i
installed the ac3 thing and it now has sound. Never thought Media Player
would lose it's audio codec from the DVD and not the video files. but
anyway,i got it fixed.
