    Hi there,

If one purchases a computer (self-built) and installs Windows XP Media
Center Edition 2005, should he be able to pop a store-bought DVD in and play
the movie without needing any additional decoding software? Just, will
XPMCE 2005 play DVD movies in its
    just-formatted-and-installed-the-OS-two-seconds-ago state?

    Thank you

  2. No. MCE 2005 does not include a DVD decoder. One must be purchased and
    installed separately.
