    Hi All,

    I'm having problems adding a win2003 SP1 server to a win2003 domain. When I
try to add it I am getting the error message:

"the following error occured attempting to join the domain XXXX"
"the remote procedure call failed and did not execute"

The server is setup with DNS pointing at the sole windows 2003 (small
business) server. There are no obvious errors in the event log on either the
server I am trying to add to the domain or the DC.

Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong here?

    TIA,

    -H

RPC errors is a very common one that haunts windows 2003. I myself have como
across it hundreds of time in different scenerios & when all seems to be
    working fine.

In your case try from the system you wish to join to a domain
    1] ping DC using IP
2] Ping DC using NetBIOS name of the DC
    3] Ping DC using FQDN

Try joining a system to the domain using NetBIOS Domain name if it is
    refusing to use FQDN
