I installed icq and now I cannot change my default search engine. It comes
up icq search every time I try to search from teh address bar. I have tried
all the normal settings to set live search as my provider but they dont do
anything. I seem to remember changing this back before but that was another
computer and long ago. I think I had to edit the registry but I am not going
to money around with that without explicit instructions. It is ie7 and Vista
    on a new computer.
    Thanks

Hi Bob. Thanks but I have trtied this and it does not work. All the
"regular ways" of changing it, including through live toolbar, do not work.
I think I need to go directly to the registry, but exatly what to do is my
    dilemma? Any ideas?

I am not sure whcih icon you mean. When nothing is open there is a shortcut
for ie that is on my screen. I right click and it has no option for restart
without "add ons" . Ill keep looking but will also look for your reply too.
    Thanks

Sorry Frank, but when I do this it wont search from the address bar. It adds
a "http://" to whatever I put in the address bar and a "%" symbol beteen each
word. Then all I get is a webpage not available screen.

Is there not some way to reverse the "hold" icq has put on my search engine.
Some "fix". I have posted to icq tech boards but no luck so far.
