Cannot remotely access the event log or registry on Windows 2003 Server DC

    I am seeing this message:
    Either a required impersonation level was not provided,
    or the provided impersonation level is invalid.

    What could the problem be?

  2. On the target and source machine open secpol.msc and expand Local
    Policy\User Rights Assignment.

    Verify membership in the "Impersonate a Client After Authentication" User
    Right has at least Administrators and SERVICE accounts listed. If either of
    these are not present, add them and reboot.
