Cannot "Resolve items..." in Calendar

    I have recently installed 3.8 and synchronize with Outlook 2000 SP-3. My
    calendar shows "1 unresolved item". When I click on "Resolve items..." to
    fix the issue ActiveSync makes an attemp but returns to its original status
    without telling me what need be fixed. I have rebooted both the laptop and
    the handheld several times. Is there any other way to find out what's
    conflicting? A log maybe...

    Hello Luca,

    Try running Detect & Repair feature available under the Help menu
    in Outlook to scan the pst file. Additionally, you can also try running the
    Scanpst utility to check for any corruption in the PST file (the file that
    stores your Outlook data). Search for scanpst.exe on your computer.

    You will need to run it against the .pst file. If you are unable to locate
    the path of the .pst file, do the following:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click File -> Data File Management
    3. This should list all the PST files that are present. Click Open Folder
    and you should find the storage path of your *.pst file.

    I did both. The Detect & Repair did not seem to produce any particular
    result while the scanpst did find errors which it repaired. Nevertheless I
    still keep getting the error. Can I selectively delete the Calendar on my
    handheld and let ActiveSync re-create it afresh?

    Hi Luca,

    The problem is determining which calendar entry is causing the problem. The
    error message of ActiveSync is not very helpful. If you are interested
    isolating it through the log files, see if this document helps you -

    Or else try recreating the partnership. To delete and recreate a
    partnership --

    1. Disconnect the PPC from the computer.
    2. In Activesync -> File -> Delete Partnership.
    3. Connect the device and follow the onscreen
    instructions to setup a new partnership.

    If that doesn't help, move all your appointments out of the calendar and the
    move them back is small sets. This should help you isolate the
    appointment(s) that is causing the error message. The steps that are
    involved to move appointments would be as follows:

    1. Open Outlook and goto Calendar.
    2. Right-click the Calendar folder and create a new folder of Calendar
    3. Click View -> Arrange by -> Date (This will list all your appointments
    4. Select All (Press Ctrl + A) and drag the selected items into your new
    5. Synchronize and verify. If successful, proceed by moving small batches
    of appointments back to the original folder and allow ActiveSync to
    sync until you get the error message.

    I tried the soft approach via the LOG files to no avail. I then decided
    to move the appointments out and back in. This solved the problem. Many
    I assume this would work with any other folder.
