    I have MSN Messenger running on multiple desktops on Windows XP Home
    Edition, regularly updated. My default browser is Firefox. I recently
    installed IE7 Beta, but, as I said it is not my default browser. I
    cannot be sure whether the problem dates from this installation or
    not, but it was very close in time.

    Now, when I try to view a message history I see in the window where
    the mesage history should have opened:

    <quote>
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error
    and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The system cannot locate the resource specified. Error processing
    resource 'file:///C:/Documents and Settings/Translation/M...
    </quote>

    "Translation" is the name of one of my User Desktops. The result on
    other desktops is the equivalent.

    The message would be more helpful if I had even the vaguest idea how
    to "correct the error".

    TIA for any help.

  2. Yup, it's IE7B2 preview that is causing this. It's a known issue with it
    not being able to handle spaces in the xml path. A workaround for it is
    to put the history folder in a directory structure with no spaces (eg,
    c:\history\). Or you can open the xml files in firefox. Either that, or
    you can just go back to IE6 :)

    Thanks Scott.
    How do I revert to IE6? IE isn't in Add or remove Programs.
