Hello everyone, We just upgraded our server to windows 2008. We didn't
realize there would be an issue with our machines until all of them couldn't
connect to the server. Our Milling machines range from windows 95 to NT 4.
We don't have the firewall on the 2008 server but the machines say the same
thing. Unable to lcoated network device. We can ping the server and we can
connect to our 2003 server just fine so it is like windows 2008 doesn't allow
the NT 4 or 95 clients to access it. does anyone have any ideas?

    TIA
    Mike

Mike - start by verifying that the settings listed in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823659 and let us know if this resolves your
    issue...

In particular, take a note of the following (resulting) settings on Windows
    Server 2008 computer:

Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always)
Domain member: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data (always)

It could also be a problem with NTLM on devices as old as that. They
    probably can't handle NTLMv2.

Not to mention using WINS instead of DNS
