Can't burn in playlist order

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by Terrence Kearney, Jan 17, 2004.

  1. I have a VCD player that I bought especially because it
plays wma format. But whenever I try to burn a CD in
Highmat or Data mode (because the the Audio format is big
enough for all that I want to put on it) it burns my music
in alphabetical order not the playlist order.

When I burn in Audio mode it burns in playlist order -
which is fine. But I opted to buy the VCD so I could play
several hours of music on it that far exceeds the storage
on one Audio CD....instead of one that has an 8 CD
changer. Now I am having regrets.

Is there anything I can do or software I can buy to burn
my music in the playlist order?

Hi, WMP will burn the media files in alphabetical order, but it includes the
playlist so that WMP will play it back in the right order. If you are using
a device that doesn't support playback from a playlist you will need to
prefix your files with something like "01 - artist - title" and "02 -
artist - title" Then WMP will burn it the way you wish it to be played.
